Gabriel let go of Mohinder's shoulder in order to turn around and greet this man. He hadn't heard him coming, but then, his attention was pretty much entirely on Mohinder and the dinosaur at the time. Gabriel wasn't sure what to make of this guy at first glance, and that was unusual.
