Gabriel was a little surprised that Mohinder was suggesting an immediate break. He figured the scientist would want to work on things a little longer- which might turn into a lot longer, considering Mohinder's work ethic. But it wouldn't be surprising if Mohinder was feeling a little fragile by now, and they honestly both needed some reassurance.

So as they turned towards the exit, Gabriel's eyes slid halfway closed and he smiled in contentment. "Good idea," he replied to Mohinder's suggestion about dinner. It'd be good to properly thank Jack.

Gabriel squeezed Mohinder's hand, and it felt like a lifeline. Getting out of the Hub itself and back into the sun always helped give Gabriel some perspective, and this time was no different. The walk back to the cottage was pleasant, and was a good transition to the ideas of both Safe and Home. As soon as they entered the garden, Gabriel pulled Mohinder close, cupped his cheek, and kissed him gently. Gabriel nearly always started with gentleness, even if they didn't always end up that way.
