Who: Jack, Gabriel, Mohinder
When: December 4
What: Freddy Fazbear's It's So Fun

"I'll say it again...this is the strangest engagement celebration that I've ever seen," Jack said, pushing back against the desk in the security room as he leaned back in one of the chairs. The usual staff had off for the night and though he was assured that there would be something interesting happening right around ten o'clock or so, they had another hour to go. "People have died."

Mohinder smiled somewhat ridiculously. He was so happy that Jack wanted to throw paperclips at him and hug him tightly at the same time. Mohinder managed to impress a great variety of emotions on people. "This is perfect. I've been meaning to get out of the lab."

Who: Kirk & Sesan
When: December 2
What: Be careful finding train fare just laying around.

Kirk and the pea coat he had on had started to merge. He wasn't sure how many days he spent at the station. They hadn't been able to get a good lockdown on when the artifact was suppose to show up, but the two week time frames lately were starting to get to him.

Now, it wasn't as if he couldn't go home when he wanted to, but the track record of the vortex manipulator a lately did actually kind of mean that he really couldn't go home when he wanted to actually. Not if he wanted to be able to complete his mission in a timely fashion as the manipulate had recharge rates and sometimes popped you too far ahead or behind of the target.

Two and a half hours after he'd gotten to the station that day, coffee finished and tossed out, Kirk felt his jaw drop. He knew that face. And he knew that face wasn't one that would know him either. It hadn't gotten easier with Gabriel, but at least they could nod and ignore one another.

"Just how many of you are there?" he muttered and went to get behind the familiar man waiting to use the turnstyle. So much for doing his job.

Who: Wheatley & Chelldon
When: August 30th
What: Wheatley and Chelldon manage to escape Handy, GLaDoS and the rest of the insanity only to find themselves on Earth.

"This doesn't actually seem right," the android said, adjusting his optical correctors before he pulled them off of his face all together and tried to rub them clean.  "It's all a bit too bright.  Not Testing Chamber bright...less white and blue and more yellow.  Why would anyone use yellow tinted lighting?  Better question!  Who would use this green stuff for flooring?  It seems like a danger waiting to happen."

He and Chelldon had tumbled through the orange portal just seconds ahead of a smashy spike plate and found themselves standing in a place they had never been before.  There was quite a lot of grass and trees...

And a man standing by one of the trees with his back towards them and his trousers down around his knees.  Wheatley had no idea what he was doing, but he called to him anyway.  "Excuse me?  E-Excuse me?  Sir, excuse me?  Hello?  Yes, hello, excuse me, but can you please tell me the way to the elevator?"

Who: Mohinder Suresh, Gabriel Gray, Jack Harkness, Others
What: Mohinder’s been busy while Jim and Gabriel were away
When: August 14th (whoops, time travel on those manipulators are extremely difficult to predict sometimes)

“Whoever has been putting Euros in the Free Happy Market machine really needs to stop,” Mohinder said, clipboard under his arm as he raced across the testing unit where the seemingly innocuous vending machine was plugged in. “Someone get me more plastic bins!” The machine had been dispensing orange foam for the last three minutes in a steady stream that was coating the floor and the table and chair legs in a semicircle around it. While three minutes didn’t really seem like it would be a long time in the grand scheme of things, it was enough to ruin everyone’s shoes.

Luckily, the foam didn’t seem to be toxic or acidic. It wasn’t turning anyone funny shapes or leading them to rush to the medical theater. That didn’t mean that Mohinder was pleased to have to play janitor, however. Running turned into sloshing and he turned just in time for Kaylee to hit him in the face with the bin he had requested.

“Awful sorry Mohinder!” she called, but she was giggling and Mohinder was too annoyed at the machine to be angry with her. Besides, it was almost impossible to be angry with her. Picking up the bin from where it had fallen to the floor, Mohinder shoved the mouth against the machine’s dispenser...only to have the thing shut off and chime merrily to signal that it had completed a transaction satisfactorily.

He sighed and set the bin beside three others, the former contains full of foam, and plopped down into a chair. “Yen. Only. From now on. I mean it,” he was saying before a familiar figure appeared on the second floor landing overlooking the testing room. Mohinder was on his feet at once.

Three weeks ago, Gabriel left on his first mission. Three weeks ago, Mohinder threw himself into his work. Three weeks ago, he was suppose to be right back. Mohinder smirked. “You’re late!”

Who: Primarily Gabriel Gray and Jim Kirk
What: First day of training for Gabriel.
When: July 21st? A day after this thread.

In the past 24 hours, Gabriel’s life seemed to almost twist itself into operational shape. He’d felt like a broken mechanism for so long, wobbling from place to place. Now he could see how he might be able to reach a future he’d chosen for himself. Best of all, he wouldn’t be alone.

So he walked into the Hub in a very good mood, eager to find out what he and Mohinder be doing today. And the first thing they’d be doing, apparently, was going their separate ways. That made his smile disappear, but he knew it had been a possibility. So he squeezed Mohinder’s hand and told him he’d see him after work. And Mohinder was guided off.

Gabriel’s mentor hadn’t arrived yet, so he excused himself and made his way to the conference room he spent some time in yesterday. The Gallifreyan books were still there, as was the teddy bear. He smiled at it, but left it alone for the moment. The books were what he really wanted to get back to. He’d work on these until he was given something to do. The language on its own was so interesting. Before long, he had several of the books open. He was attempting to cross-reference them to find and categorize characters.

Who: Gabriel and Mohinder with appearances by Jack Harkness and JC.
When: July 20, after this thread of doom.
What: Mohinder and Gabriel accept Jack's invitation and join Torchwood.

Mohinder might as well have had his hands and nose pressed to the ass as the SUV descended on the platform from the plaza above. The Hub was darker and less clinical than he had imagined from the way Jack had spoken briefly about Torchwood Institute. The walls were either brick of off white ceramic subway tiles, shaped like a massive tube around a central core. Walkways and stairs connected levels above and below them and rooms seemed to jut off from the main area like the spokes of a wheel.

No wonder Jack called it a Hub.

Wide eyed and half confused, when the car stopped moving, Mohinder jumped out of it to examine the winch system and try to find the opening they had slowly dropped through, though that had disappeared. He gripped the yellow industrial lift control box, which looked like something out of a warehouse or a mine, and frowned at the buttons.

"I was expecting something more... Futuristic, I suppose," Mohinder muttered to himself and set out around the catwalk, trying to look both up and down at the same time.

Who: Captain Jack Harkness + You

You've seen him before, maybe even since you were a child. When he appears, it's always been right there, at the edge of your vision, watching you. Sometimes he says hello in passing as he crosses the street. Sometimes he just smiles when you spot him and ducks into a shop or moves around the corner. He comes and goes from your life, never threatening, never tangible.

Until today.

Today he moves towards you purposefully. He has bright blue eyes and dimples when he smiles. He'd not aged a day since you first started to see him. He smells like the best thing in the world to you. He offers his hand. "Hi. I'm Captain Jack Harkness," he says.

There was only so much solitude that Jack Harkness could take. After Miracle Day, after experiencing being mortal again, after having his heart broken a thousand times over and the future holding more of the same, after crying out again and again to the Doctor for help and being left unanswered, Jack decided to get out if the whole hero business. It was time for a younger person to take up the RAF greatcoat.

Besides, for all intents and purposes, the Torchwood Institute went black years ago with the destruction of the Cardiff Hub. The British government never referee to it anymore. The police and military were no longer in need of contracting them. The world was forgetting Torchwood even existed.

For some time, Jack though it was for the best. The world had been the beneficiary of and shared the agony of Jack's help for as long as he had been on this planet.

But Jack was restless. The Doctor had defeated the coward in him. He could never stay away for too long. He was halfway through a case of wine with a charming newlywed couple in his bed when it occurred to him that as fun as this was, he was more than just a hedonistic, accidental fixed point in time. He was a Torchwood Agent to the core. No. More than than. He was the Face of the Boeshane Peninsula. He was a Time Agent. Maybe it was time to try his hand at that again.

Of course, it meant that he was going to have to start recruiting! There was no time like the present, even for a time traveler.

Jack gave the bride and groom each a kiss (okay, and a little more since it was their honeymoon) and bounded out of bed to find his underwear. He gave the vortex manipulator he wore a few moments to warm up and off he went!

This is a private panfandom game/musebox centered around Captain Jack Harkness' reestablishment of the Torchwood Institute as the new Time Agency sometime after the events of Miracle Day (Torchwood Series Four).

Jack is putting together a new team of Torchwood Time Agents from all over the multiverse. There is no application (for those privately invited), no AC, and while the game will be guided periodically and there is a primary goal to save the universe from itself (and everyone else), it is basically a sandbox.

The rules are simple. Play nice. Be friendly. Don't God Mod. All the basic stuff! We are all adults here.
